MIPS Technologies and ITeX Sign License Agreement for 32-Bit Cores
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.----Sept. 6, 2000--
MIPS Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: MIPS, MIPSB - ), a leading provider
of industry standard processor architectures and cores for digital
consumer and network applications, and Integrated Telecom Express,
Inc. (NASDAQ: ITEX), an industry leader in proven, deployed, high
performance DSL chipset and software solutions, today announced that
ITeX has signed a licensing agreement for the MIPS32 4Kc(TM) 32-bit
processor core. The agreement enables ITeX to integrate MIPS32 4Kc
processor technology into its advanced DSL controllers.
``We are pleased that ITeX has chosen to utilize MIPS Technologies'
industry-leading processor cores,'' said John Bourgoin, president and
CEO of MIPS Technologies, Inc. ``Their DSL solution takes full
advantage of processor power to minimize cost, and their choice to
join the MIPS community validates the MIPS architecture as the de
facto standard for communications and networking applications.''
``MIPS-based processor cores provide the performance and
scalability we need,'' stated Rich Forte, President and CEO of ITeX.
``The communications market is evolving rapidly with new performance
requirements and standards. The standard MIPS architecture gives us a
proven platform upon which to build our products, getting us to market
faster with higher performance products.''
